Mark F. Schultz

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

As the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Landmark Consolidated, Mark Schultz co-founded Landmark’s initial operating company in 1985. Over the last 38 years under Mark’s leadership Landmark has master planned, designed, developed, owned and/or operated over $6 billion in commercial, hospitality, institutional and multi-family real estate projects. By applying the basic principles of hard work, education and innovation Mark has kept Landmark ahead of their competition while constantly striving to be an industry trend setter.

Under Mark’s leadership, Landmark developed, financed and owned the first private U.S. federal prison and the first privately owned and financed U.S. Department of Defense housing projects including both military housing as well as military hotels. He was instrumental in paving the way for legislation that allows for private financing of public schools in the State of Texas, using an innovative lease-purchase program first implemented to finance privately owned prisons for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Landmark was one of the original investors and owner of American Campus Communities, the largest student housing company in the United States. Mark’s vision allowed Landmark to be an early leader in the growing trend to integrate luxury private residences into upscale high-rise hotels.

Mark and his is family are proud to call Austin, Texas home. Austin, is a hub for a highly educated workforce and an evolving leader in innovation and technology.  He is a graduate of Texas A&M University’s College of Architecture, graduating first in his class and recipient of the prestigious Gathright Scholar Award.

Regis Matejcik

Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Regis Matejcik has been affiliated with Landmark Consolidated since 1985. As Vice President of Hardin Corporation in Austin TX, Mr. Matejcik awarded the first construction contract to Landmark Organization; the original operating component of Landmark Consolidated. After two years of successful business dealings with Landmark Consolidated, in 1987 Regis officially joined Landmark as Vice President. He oversaw the growth of the firm from a modest-sized construction company to one of the largest commercial construction firms in the region. During this tenure, Landmark extended its reach into almost every major market in the country and began to broaden its business interests from strictly construction operations to real property investment and development.

Mr. Matejcik eventually stepped down from his position of Vice President and formed his construction firm, while continuing to be involved with the growth of Landmark Consolidated. As an independent entity, Regis played a key role in the completion of Landmark-owned and developed private correctional facilities in New Mexico and Texas, as well as providing site selection consultation and spearheading the municipal utility extensions that became the basis for Landmark’s first PPV (Public Private Venture) with the United States Navy.

After many years of working at an arm’s length basis with Landmark, Regis Matejcik rejoined Landmark Consolidated in April 2016, adding his successful business operations to the Landmark Consolidated team, and assuming the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer of Landmark Consolidated. Mr. Matejcik brings to Landmark Consolidated over 30 years of business and management experience, which include successful endeavors in construction and real estate development.  Regis’s degree in Economics and Business Management at Kent State University and MBA studies at St. Edwards University in Austin help round out his broad skill set.  Always combining hard work principles and creative problem solving, Regis Matejcik helps keep Landmark Consolidated a cut above the competition.

Regis is a native of Cleveland, Ohio; but has lived in the Austin area since 1983. When not working, Regis also enjoys skiing, motorcycle riding, and of course, rooting for the Cavaliers.

Cameron Paiga

Project Manager

Cameron Paiga’s career began in 2023 as Project Manager for Landmark Consolidated.  Cameron’s responsibilities include overseeing ongoing new construction and coordinating major renovations at existing facilities. Additionally, Cameron coordinates major purchase deliveries, subcontractor performance, budgeting, and scheduling.

Prior to joining the Landmark team, Cameron’s experience includes a decade in the engineering industry; working with Samsung Austin Semiconductor on their photolithography process and working on thermoelectric technology at MicroPower-Global.

Cameron studied flexible manufacturing systems while receiving a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at Texas State University.

Cameron is a member of the Austin Stone community church.  He and his wife Sarah share a 2-year-old daughter and a golden retriever.  Together, they enjoy doing life with their close friends and family.

Kevin Higgs

CMA Senior Project Analyst

Kevin Higgs, CMA, serves as the Senior Project Analyst at Landmark Consolidated, Inc., where he plays a pivotal role in driving financial and operational success. With expertise in property accounting and financial reporting, Kevin ensures accuracy and compliance in the company’s financial records. His responsibilities include leading project planning and execution, analyzing data to uncover actionable insights, managing complex projects—including contract management—and fostering effective communication across cross-functional teams. Kevin’s dedication to excellence extends to mentoring less experienced team members and proactively managing project risks to ensure successful outcomes. He also provides user and operational support for business applications, ensuring seamless functionality and efficiency within the organization.

Before joining Landmark Consolidated in February 2022, Kevin’s career was marked by a distinguished tenure in the U.S. Army, beginning in 2011. He was stationed at various duty locations, including Fort Bragg, NC; Vicenza, Italy; and Fort Hood, TX, with deployments to Afghanistan, Korea, and Eastern Europe. Following his military service, he worked as a contractor at Fort Irwin, CA, delivering training, analysis, and feedback for rotational training units.

Kevin’s academic achievements include graduating summa cum laude with an associate degree in management from Barstow Community College in 2019 and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Park University in 2022. He earned the prestigious Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation from the Institute of Management Accountants in 2024.

Outside of work, Kevin enjoys spending quality time with his family, including his three children, and indulging in his passion for reading. His professionalism, leadership, and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable member of the Landmark Consolidated team.

Sara Figueroa

Controller

As Controller of Landmark Consolidated, Inc., Sara Figueroa oversees the company’s financial strategy, planning, and reporting. She is responsible for managing accounting operations, including general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cost accounting, while ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Sara provides leadership in budgeting, financial analysis, and organizational planning to support the company’s long-term goals. She also serves on the executive committee as Secretary.

Before joining Landmark Consolidated in October 2017, Sara built an extensive career in senior management and investigations, where she developed strong leadership, analytical, and operational expertise.

Sara graduated summa cum laude from Southern New Hampshire University in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, focusing on forensic accounting and fraud examination.

Outside of her professional role, Sara has a heart for philanthropy and community service. She owns a specialty coffee company, Hound House Coffee, and dedicates much of her free time to serving as the President of Hound Rescue, where she advocates for saving and rehoming rescue beagles.

Amanda Martinez

Human Resources Administrator

Amanda is the Human Resources Administrator for Landmark Consolidated, Inc., where she oversees essential HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and staff development across the organization.

Amanda began her career with Landmark Consolidated in 2006 as a Guest Services Representative at the Landmark Inn, located at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California. Her dedication to exceptional customer service led to promotions, including Front Desk Manager, Assistant General Manager, and ultimately General Manager. In these roles, Amanda gained extensive experience in hotel operations, team building, and leadership.

In 2020, Amanda earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from Park University. Following her graduation, Amanda’s role shifted fully into human resources, where she now applies her expertise to support the organization’s mission and foster a thriving workplace culture.

Anja Palasky

General Manager Landmark Inn, Fort Bragg, NC

Anja joined the Landmark Consolidated team in 2014 as General Manager at Landmark Inn located in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Anja’s responsibilities include all aspects of the hotel operations including guest relations, housekeeping, maintenance, budgeting, team building, and staff development; as well as coordinating the updating of the property’s furnishings and fixtures. Anja’s responsibilities also include acting as the Landmark Inn liaison with the Fort Bragg Base Command.

Prior to arriving at Landmark Consolidated, Anja enjoyed a successful tenure as General Manager at Marriott International for many years. Anja originally studied Hotel Management in her native country of Germany before moving to the United States to apply her skills.
In her free time, Anja enjoys exercising, spending time with her dog, and riding motorcycles.
